About Our Speaker: Susan Cohen and her husband, Mitchell Krasnopoler, founded Americans for Older Driver Safety (AFODS) in 2012. The non-profit organization is run by Susan and its Mission is: "We empower older adults to extend their years of safe driving and remain mobile for life through education, research and policy advances." AFODS has a national focus in advocating for more older driver safety education for older adult drivers, their families, health professionals, and those working in the field of aging. Education topics include reducing crash risk as you age, locating alternative modes of transportation appropriate for older adults and preparing for transition to driving retirement. Prior to creating AFODS, Susan worked in Maryland as an attorney at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General.
